At Essential Pregnancy Services (EPS), we receive frequently asked questions when women learn of their positive pregnancy tests. Here are some of the most common and our responses on how to best navigate next steps when facing an unplanned pregnancy or an under-supported pregnancy.

How can I confirm my pregnancy?
After a positive pregnancy test, it is important to confirm your pregnancy with an ultrasound scan, which can determine how far along you are and if your pregnancy is progressing/viable. Our compassionate team of highly qualified nurses can provide you with a cost-free 1st trimester limited obstetric ultrasound scan.

What are my pregnancy options?
Some women think they only have one pregnancy option, but you actually have several. Whatever choice you make about your pregnancy, you can be sure that the best decision is an informed one. EPS can offer you facts about your pregnancy so you can feel confident about what to do.

What if I am considering abortion?
EPS offers pre-abortion screenings, a multi-step process that includes a pregnancy testing, STI screening/treatment and 1st trimester limited obstetric ultrasound scan. We provide these cost-free services in a confidential, safe environment because your privacy is important to us. Although we do not provide or refer for abortions, our team is here to be your advocate. We offer the knowledge you need to make an informed and thoughtful decision about your unplanned pregnancy. In addition to this, we are committed to giving you honest answers to all of your questions. Whatever choice you make for this pregnancy, we are here for you.

What can I expect when I visit EPS?
At your appointment, we will spend time with you listening to your concerns and sharing pregnancy information and options. In addition to our nursing team, we also have professional counselors who are available to discuss your situation and offer you additional resources. It is our mission to provide you accurate medical information and important facts to address your immediate issues. We do not benefit from the choice you make about your pregnancy.

When you submit a request for an appointment, you will receive a text asking you to call us within one business day. If you submit your request for an appointment after business hours, you will receive a text on the following business day. Once you receive this text, you MUST call to confirm your appointment by the time designated in the text message or your requested appointment will NOT be scheduled.

1. If you are feeling ill or have a fever, please do not schedule or attend an appointment. We can reschedule when you are feeling better. If you are unsure about whether to attend your appointment, call our helpline.

2. One adult guest may accompany you to your medical appointment. No children are permitted at appointments. No children should be left unattended in vehicles for any amount of time, so please make plans prior to coming to EPS if you have children in your care.

3. Babes in arms are welcome with clients participating in EPS Life Services, including when attending education classes and shopping in the boutique.

4. A mask must be worn at all times while in EPS centers and social distancing maintained.
